Mobile Veterinary Acupuncture Clinic

Partially closed through early summer of 2023

In Balance Veterinary Care is partially closed through the early summer of 2023, so that Dr. Cate can explore some new avenues both within and outside of medicine. She is able to provide ongoing care for current patients, but is not accepting new patients during this time.

If you are seeking holistic care or acupuncture, the directories of these organizations may help you locate someone who can be of help:

American Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association
International Veterinary Acupuncture Society
Chi University
Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (Curacore)

For musculoskeletal/mobility issues, rehab (physical therapy for animals) can often also be helpful, and two clinics in the Salt Lake Valley that provide these services are Alta Dog Rehab and Utah Pet Rehab.

In Balance Veterinary Care is a veterinary practice serving the greater Salt Lake City area with a focus on acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Dr. Cate Dolan is a licensed veterinarian and is certified in veterinary acupuncture. She offers a medical perspective that is grounded in conventional Western medicine, although she does not provide most primary care services, instead recommending that her clients also maintain a relationship with a primary care vet or specialist for those needs. Drawing on a holistic view of health and medicine, Dr. Dolan utilizes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and diet therapies to help her patients move toward optimal health.

In Balance Veterinary Care is a primarily mobile clinic, making house or barn calls, although one to two days each week Dr. Dolan sees in-clinic small animal appointments using space at Alta Dog Rehabilitation.
